T10’s Going to the Big City

This afternoon we did not have to go far at all. We pulled out of the Victoria harbour and just southeast of Race Rocks we met a pod of mammal-eating orcas. This group of transient, T10, whales were surfacing a lot in what seemed to be a determined line of travel towards the city of Victoria. As we watched around in suspense, we heard a big loud exhale right off the stern, getting a pleasant surprise visit from the enormous male in the pod. We watched the T’s travel passed giving a great visual of the killer whales sailing to the city.
