An excited and energetic group headed out of the Victoria Harbour this afternoon in search of Orcas.
Our search lead us to the west side of San Juan Island; a common feeding ground of our Resident Orcas. Once at False Bay, we found ourselves surrounded by J-Pod! The large group of 25 whales in total, included the 6 day old calf (J42) born to Slick (J16). We were all pleased to see the pod pass by feeding on the abundant salmon. We were even more excited when we saw several breaches, spyhops and tail slapping!
On our ride back we took the opportunity to see harbour seals and bald eagles at Discovery Island. What a great group and a rocking tour!
