Today L-Pod returned to Strait of Juan de Fuca!

This morning's tour was lucky today because we saw a lot of activity between Splash (L67) and her calf Aurora (L101) and Hugo (L71) gave us a close look.We stopped at Race Rocks at the end of the tour and saw a mating pair of eagles. One sea lion gave us a show trying to get onto the rocks. They look so graceful in the water – but not on land!

We had a spectacular afternoon today. L-Pod gave us some amazingly sights on the tour. Hugo (L71) and Mega (L41), two large males, were very social while we were in the area. On our trip to Race Rocks we also saw bald eagles, Stellar and California sea lions, Harbour and Elephant seals, cormorants and oyster catchers.

However orcas are very social and curious and there are times where they approach us for a look. Sometimes they will spy hop and look right at the vessels on the water or they may even surface nearby.
